#5 3 Ways to increase guest retention & fill the book
We can increase guest retention and start to see our books fill up weeks in advance when we become super aware of how we talk with our guests about their next appointments.
Here are the top 𝟑 ways to get your guests to pre-book :
#1 Bring up pre-booking their next reservation at the beginning of their service during the consultation while you have their full attention. Why does this work better than mentioning it at the end of their service? Because, when the cape comes off, our guests' minds are on to the next thing they have to do that day.
#2 Instead of saying "When do you want to come back in?" Try "For this color, I recommend coming back in 5 weeks to keep it looking fresh!" This works because we're the experts when it comes to giving our guests the look they want and want to keep. They trust our recommendations for their hair to look its best.
#3 Make it about them by saying "I know how hectic your schedule is, let's get your next reservation scheduled so that's one less thing you have to worry about!" Avoid making it about you and saying something like "I'm getting busy and I don't want you to not be able to get in". Pre-booking is in the best interest of our guests and making sure they're able to come and us on the best day and time for them.
You may be nervous to bring this up to your guests or you may think that you’re bothering or pressuring them by recommending that they pre-book, but you seriously ARE NOT! Your guests appreciate you making recommendations.
Remember, pre-booking isn’t the end all be all to stylist success, but it certainly can help, especially with guests who are your favorite services or whose lifestyle is very conducive to pre-booking.
